Katie Belles - Lomandra hystrix `LHBYF` is a large growing grass plant suited to a wide range of climates. In tropical north and south-east Queensland, it thrives in the humid summer climates and mild winters, reaching its maximum height of 1.5 metres tall. In the southern states of NSW, ACT and Victoria, it will grow shorter, reaching a maximum height of approx. 1.2 metres tall. Being a larger plant, it is ideal for privacy screening of pools and driveways and is an excellent plant for partitioning off garden areas to create garden rooms. Katie Belles requires a little maintenance bar for a tidy-up trim every few years to remove older foliage. Katie Belles can also grow in seasonally wetter soils, provided they also get periods of dry periods as well.
